About Us
Bella Terra Vineyards was founded in 2015 by Jay and Joanna Bell. The original vision was to create a space for outdoor weddings and events, under the leadership of Jacque Bell, and supply those events with homemade wine. With Joanna’s background in advertising/graphic design, Jay’s background in horticulture and business, and Jacque’s expertise in coordinating events, Bella Terra Vineyards was born.

That mission quickly changed with the successful opening of the original tasting room in 2016. The wines and beautiful outdoor space were well received and the need for a larger winery soon became paramount. By 2019, Jay and Joanna had left their “day” jobs to focus on the winery fulltime and added several employees including General Manager Heather Gibas and winemaker Bill King. In 2019, the main tasting room and event space was opened which offered BTV wine, local craft beers and PA made spirits. The new building had a larger tasting room, more patio seating, private event spaces and a larger production facility.

In 2020, Bella Terra added a second location in Bedford, PA and welcomed new employees to the team including winemaker Troy Beeler and Tasting Room Manager Anna Guevara. BTV also added the Bistro to the Hunker location which provides guests with delicious on site food such as shareable small plates, sandwiches and daily specials. During this time of rapid growth, Bella Terra managed to produce award winning wines and lead the industry in the production of canned wines, as well as tap into the cider market with an array of housemade seasonal ciders.
Bella Terra is open daily in both locations with live entertainment on weekends and weeknights (Hunker location). Weddings are hosted in Hunker on in-season Saturdays and the public is welcome to enjoy the Original Tasting Room while the building is reserved for the day.

Check out our calendar for all events. In Hunker, we are pet friendly outside as long as your pet is on a leash and you clean up after them. No outside beverages are permitted on premise. Outside food is only permitted in our lawn areas in Hunker. In Bedford, we welcome you to bring in your own snacks or order from one of our local neighborhood restaurants!
Reservations are not required. However, if you'd like to reserve a table for your group of 8 or more, please email info@bellaterravineyards.com.
